En effet, en cas de probl\u00e8me, nous avons tendance \u00e0 expliquer la situation et les raisons de l&rsquo;erreur plut\u00f4t que d&rsquo;en assumer directement la responsabilit\u00e9. Mais pourquoi les japonais per\u00e7oivent-ils cette \u00ab\u00a0excuse\u00a0\u00bb de mani\u00e8re n\u00e9gative? Pour le comprendre, il est n\u00e9cessaire d&rsquo;exposer le notion culturelle de <em>hansei<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Hansei<\/em> peut se traduire par \u00ab\u00a0auto-r\u00e9flexion\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0introspection\u00a0\u00bb. \u00c0 premi\u00e8re vue, cette id\u00e9e peut ne pas nous sembler \u00e9trang\u00e8re, car tout le monde s\u2019engage dans une certaine mesure dans l\u2019introspection. Mais&nbsp;il s&rsquo;agit ici d&rsquo;aller&nbsp;plus loin&nbsp;que de simplement se rem\u00e9morer les actions pass\u00e9es. Au Japon, d\u00e8s le plus jeune \u00e2ge, <em>hansei<\/em> est un exercice conscient : les \u00e9l\u00e8ves doivent r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir de mani\u00e8re critique \u00e0 leur comportement en classe ainsi qu\u2019apr\u00e8s leur sortie scolaire, ou autre, avec l\u2019id\u00e9e que l\u2019apprentissage de nos propres faiblesses est une \u00e9tape essentielle du processus vers l&rsquo;age adulte. Mais cela ne s&rsquo;arr\u00eate pas l\u00e0 : un aspect crucial, et le but ultime de <em>hansei<\/em>, est de changer nos actions pour un mieux, en fonction des nouvelles connaissances collect\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le concept de <em>hansei<\/em> impr\u00e8gne \u00e9galement la culture d&rsquo;entreprise japonaise. Un employ\u00e9 japonais qui commet une erreur s\u2019engage naturellement dans le <em>hansei<\/em>. En pratique, il exprimera d&rsquo;abord ses regrets \u00e0 son patron et assumera la responsabilit\u00e9 de ses actes. Ensuite, apr\u00e8s avoir identifi\u00e9 ce qui a mal tourn\u00e9 (sans chercher \u00e0 trouver des excuses), il s\u2019engage \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer son comportement \u00e0 l\u2019avenir. C\u2019est en fait ce qui sous-tend \u00e9galement le concept de <em>kaizen<\/em> (am\u00e9lioration continue).
